About Braley Communication Systems, Inc.

Braley Communication Systems, Inc. (BCSI) is a systems integrator specializing in the design and manufacturing of portable wireless computer data/facsimile/voice systems for use in mobile environments.

BCSI was incorporated in 1989 and is located in Midland, Michigan.

BCSI's products are marketed under the COMMAND POST trademark, and are in operation in 43 states as well as within numerous agencies of the U. S. Government. Primary applications for BCSI products include emergency response, field technicians, trucking, and field force automation.

COMMAND POST products are fully integrated and assembled communication systems designed to meet specific application requirements. BCSI works closely with customers to identify the desired performance and functional requirements, then selects the most appropriate products for integration into a user friendly portable system. This flexible approach enables a wide variety of technologies to be available for inclusion in a customized solution. A typical BCSI system may include wireless voice, computer, facsimile, printer, CD-ROM, GPS, Ethernet, digital imaging, bar coding, page scanning, encryption etc..

A key ingredient in the design of a self-contained solution is the power management system. In demanding applications, COMMAND POST products provide compatibility with 110V/220V AC, 12V/24V DC, and include removable battery packs with a smart charging system. This is no small task given the wide variety of input voltages required by the individual components within any given system. Reliable performance, ease of operation, and durability in the field are all important features of the BCSI Proprietary Management System.

COMMAND POST products are designed for versatile operation. A typical system includes a 3 watt cellular telephone for more reliable wireless transmission of voice, data, and fax. For operation in landline environments, BCSI provides a landline handset, RJ-11 port, and a cellular/landline selector switch as part of the integrated system. The same RJ-11 port also provides connectivity to Inmarsat satellite systems. This integrated single port design greatly simplifies connectivity and compatibility issues, and provides versatile operation to the customer. BCSI also builds systems incorporating CDPD technology or alternative wireless transmission preferences.

Many advanced applications require various levels of encryption for security purposes. BCSI builds systems incorporating low level encryption devices (such as the Transcrypt unit), as well as STU III high level encryption for classified and top secret applications. Low level encryption devices are small in size, and are generally integrated within the COMMAND POST system. STU III components can be integrated within the system enabling access to the power management system and the convenience of a self-contained design, or they can be used external to the BCSI system through a connecting cable. Specific application requirements and the relevancy of size and weight issues determine the design configuration best suited to meet the customer’s specifications.

Over the years, BCSI has earned a reputation for delivering high quality , easy to operate communication systems noted for reliable performance and durability in demanding mobile environments. A contributing factor to this success is a flexible approach in system design and available options. In this business, one size does not fit all. COMMAND POST products are integrated into a wide variety of commercial and industrial grade cases determined by customer requirements.

BCSI is proud to be a proven leader in wireless system integration and welcomes the opportunity to address your specific portable communication requirements.
